These are just a couple more pictures we took on our drive back to Syndey. The Banana is famous here in Australia. As far as I know most Aussies are baffled at it's importance but...It's an austrian icon. The other picture is me standing in front of sugar cane. I was excited about it so I made David pull over and get a picture of me. This was my first Real Live Sugar Cane experiance. Very Cool!!!!!!

Just Some More Pictures

Coming Home!

Here's where we stopped for lunch on the way home from our two days of fun in the Gold Coast. It was beautiful and very romantic. We had sandwiches and then took a little hike down to the beach. It was a nice break considering that we drove for 11 hours and then got stuck in a trafic jam right out side of Sydney for 3 hours. Yuck!!!!!!! There were bush fires and they had to close down the hyway because the fire was hopping the road. Scary! It looked incredible though....Not that it was good but the fires lit up the sky and it was impressive.

Meet our awesome new housemates - Will and Erin Harris. They are from Georgia, 20 years old, worship and creative arts students at Hillsong, and just a little crazy from what I know so far. We've really enjoyed living with them and look forward to the next 5 months. As you can see we still can watch the Superbowl here. It's not really a big deal to Australians but Will got his fill of the game anyway.

Happy Aussie Birthday! Yep, on the 7th of Feburary in Australia I turned 24 years old. It was a good birthday. We celebrated on the 6th since in America that's the right date for my birthday but as the day went on I realized that since I was born in California, I actually wasn't born until 2 am on the 7th here in AU. That was good for me. I got to strech my birthday out for an exrta day:)
It was a good birthday. David woke me up with flowers and then I got to open up my presents at 6:30 in the morning. I got workout pilates DVD's, a excersize ball, chocolate...It was really fun! Then David even made breakfast for the whole house while my house mate (Erin) and I tested out the workout DVD. Good fun! Later that day Erin made me a birthday Cheesecake too. It was delicious! That morning though we had good french toast and then off to school David went. It was his first day back after the summer break here and he was very glad to get into the swing of school life. He is very involved this semester as he is still doing the ministry with the guys getting out of prison on Thursday nights and Sunday nights, and also is heading up a team of guys for the welcome lounge at the mens sevice on Thursday mornings. On top of all that he will be starting to volunteer in a prison ministry and will have school, me, life, and ...JUST LOSTS TO DO! It's good though. We are also heading of a married couples ministry through Hillsong college and planning parties and keeping that going. It's been good. We get to meet all the couples and just make sure they are taken care of and handling life here in Australia and at college ok. I'm really blessed to be a part of that. Plus I'm getting to work allowside the College Registrar and get to know his family. It's been really nice to know an older couple that we know we can go to with questions and life stuff. That's been a blessing.
SO, there you go. Life at it's best in Australia...and it's getting better every day.

Thank you Brenda and Missy for the amazing package. I was so excited when we opened it. It was wonderful!

Back from the Month of Silence

Hi all! Just wanted you to know we are still alive. We have been without Internet for awhile and working alot so our page has been badly neglected. Sorry! I have pictures and stories galour.
New news...We moved into a new little house with an awesome couple from Georgia, USA. We moved in on the 8th of December and then had the house to ourselves for a good 6 weeks. It was really nice! We like living alone...but we love Will and Erin and are so blessed to have them as house mates. I have pictures of the house I will put on the blog soon.
What else? Oh, I am now an empoyee of Hillsong church. I am working for there Conference Call Centre and learning alot. Hillsong Conferences are a lot of work. Hug!!!!!!!!!!! So, I get to take lots of phone calls, answer lots of questions, and enter lots of data. It's good. It's new, but good! Talk about learning mass organization skills.
Another fun thing is that David and I are helping head up a married couples ministry for Hillsong College. That's been really cool. I've been able to work with the Hillsong College leadership some and do something I feel like is going to make a differnece here. I know when we moved here it was a struggle to get around and figure out life at first. So, just helping new people when they get here, helping them get connected, and then making sure they are all ok while they are here - that's the job description. Oh, and planning parties to get everyone together. Fun, Fun!!!!!!!
Also, David has had college break since the beginning of December so we've gone camping on the beach, seen dolphins on a dolphin cruise (that we got free), gone snorkeling(also free), taken a 12 hour trip up the north coast to ride scary rides at Australias own MOVIE WORLD, and then spent nights on the beach looking at the stars and snuggling...Yeah, we've had fun the last couple months. It's been good!!!!!!!! School starts again though in two days so we're back to the scheduled life. I'll be back to working 20 hours a week instead of 40-60 so I'm kind of looking forward to seeing that.
So that's the story fokes. I'll have pictures as soon as I get them develope.
To our Alaskan family - We love you all! BCC youth group-we're so glad the veggiemite was such a success. We think of you often. Miss you!!!!!!
